MEET THE COACHES

Susie Nearhoof

HEAD VARSITY COACH

Susie will be entering her second season as the Head Coach of the Austin High Girls Lacrosse Team. She is a native of Maryland and has been involved in lacrosse as a player and coach for over 20 years. Susie attended Governor Thomas Johnson High School where she played Varsity Lacrosse for four years.

 

As a player at the University of Massachusetts – Dartmouth, she played Attack and Center while specializing in draw controls. As a Senior, she was a Captain, led Attack in goals and assists and was selected as LEC 1ST Team while leading the team to the LEC playoffs.

 

After graduating college, she spent two years at her alma mater as the Head Coach for the JV Girls Lacrosse Team while playing three years with numerous post-collegiate teams.  For the 2020-2021 high school season, she served as the Head Coach for the Austin Westwood JV Girls Lacrosse Team. In addition to coaching at Austin High, she is currently coaching for GRIT Austin Lacrosse Club (2024's and 2029's).

Todd Tidmore

ASSISTANT YOUTH COACH

Todd is the head coach for the Austin Youth Girls Lacrosse Team. He is originally from Connecticut but moved to the Austin area 20 years ago and has been involved in lacrosse as a player, high school and youth coach for over 10 years. 


During the week Todd works full time as the Strategic Director for Supplyframe, Inc. In his free time, he enjoys "whatever my kids are into this week." Todd enjoys lacrosse because it is a sport that he has played with friends that they have bonded a friendship over for life. One of Todd's favorite quote is "It's not how big you are, it's how big you play."

Allison Thierry

HEAD YOUTH COACH

Allison will also be entering her second season as the Head Coach of the Middle School Girl Maroons. She is also a Maryland native and has been involved in lacrosse as a player, referee, and coach for over 15 years. 


Allison attended Kent Island High School where she played Varsity Lacrosse and traveled with the Maryland United Women's Lacrosse Club. As number seven at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), she played attack and won two NAIA National Championships. Amidst COVID-19 in the 2020 and 2021 seasons, she was a Captain that led her team in shortened seasons.  


During the week Allison works full time as a Designer for Gensler. In her free time, she enjoys paddle boarding, wheel throwing ceramics, getting coffee, or binging tv series and movies with her boyfriend. Lacrosse is important to Allison because she loves the opportunities that the game provides. "It promotes physical health, creativity, lifelong relationships, and support in the professional world." Her favorite quote is by a coach and mentor of hers, Robert Woolley, who’s life motto is to "Win the day."
